Ayodhya, the birthplace of Prabhu Shriram, is a sacred city known for its divine energy and numerous temples. Currently, the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is underway, generating curiosity about the temple and what can be expected during its construction.

The life of Lord Ram is guided by certain principles and ideals that hold great significance in Hindu religion, culture, and tradition. History Behind the Battle for Mandir Construction

Historically, the construction of the temple began in 1528 during the reign of Emperor Babar, when a mosque was built at a disputed site by his commander, Mir Baqi. The Hindu community claimed that this site was the birthplace of Lord Ram and there was an ancient temple present. The dispute resulted in riots and conflicts from 1853 to 1949. In 1949, idols of Lord Ram were found in the mosque, causing further tensions between Hindus and Muslims.

Legal battles ensued, with various applications filed in the Faizabad civil court seeking permission to worship and place idols in the disputed structure. In 1984, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad initiated efforts to construct a temple to replace the disputed structure. The case went through several legal proceedings, with the Allahabad High Court ruling in 2010 for the disputed site to be divided between Hindu and Muslim parties. Finally, in 2019, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the construction of the Ram Temple, allocating 2.77 acres of land to the Hindu side.

Architecture of Ram Mandir

The design and construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya are remarkable, with a proposed height of 161 feet and an area of 28,000 sq. ft. Traditional and modern construction techniques are being used, with materials like copper, white cement, and wood, and specific bricks designed for the temple. The renowned Sompura family, with their expertise in temple architecture for over 500 years, has been involved in the design process.

Idol of Prabhu SriRam

The temple will have two idols of Lord Ram. One is an original statue from 1949, while the other is still under construction. To facilitate this, two ancient stones known as Shaligrams were brought from Nepal. These stones, considered symbols of Vishnu, are worshipped in every home and are believed to be 6 crore years old, weighing 26 and 14 tons respectively. The temple will also feature artifacts depicting the life of Lord Rama on its walls.

The Ram Temple is being built on a vast 2.7-acre plot of land, with ample space for devotees to witness the Lord's presence. The construction is being overseen by Larsen & Tourbo Company, under the supervision of the Shri Ram Jyotirmaala Temple Trust.

Inaugration Date of the Ram Mandir

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to inaugurate the Ram Temple between January 21st and 24th, 2024. Phase-I of the temple's construction, including the ground floor and five pavilions, is set to be completed by December 30th, 2023, after which the temple will be open for visitors.
